Students who have scored pass marks in school board exams may be able to attain admissions at Delhi University’s School of Open Learning this year, following a recommendation in the Standing Committee of the Academic Council.

While admission to the courses in the SOL, a distance learning institute, required passing marks which are 33%, since its inception in 1962, Rasal Singh, a member of the council said that in 2009 the BA and BCom programmes had increased the cut-off to 40%.

“SOL has requested to change the admission criteria from 40% to 12th pass. We recommended the proposals as it will give more chance to deprived students who cannot get admissions in regular colleges.” he said.

Registration for courses at SOL will begin next month and go on till July.
