Ritu Kumar’s flagship store burgled

A range of designer wear clothing, cash and computer equipment worth nearly Rs.60 lakh were allegedly stolen from veteran fashion designer Ritu Kumar’s flagship store in the Capital’s South Extension market, the police said on Saturday.

The incident took place in the early hours of Friday when thieves broke open the lock and entered the store located on the main thoroughfare in the South Extension Part II market.

The police have registered an FIR at Hauz Khas police station and further investigation is on.

Designer Ritu Kumar said: “Since the computers have been taken away, we are in the process of taking stock of the inventory physically. What we do know is that the bridal collection along with some hard cash have gone missing. The police have been very cooperative in the case and we are hoping to get some inroads into the case at the earliest.”

Her entire bridal couture collection has been stolen, an official statement said. - PTI
