For the next one week, a special digital wall at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station will make commuters aware about the Nobel Laureates from India and their contribution to the society.

The Nobel Memorial Wall was jointly inaugurated by the Embassy of Sweden and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd on Saturday at the station. The wall will be on display from October 10 to October 16, 2015 at Rajiv Chowk and ITO Metro stations of the Delhi Metro network.

“The Nobel Memorial Wall at Rajiv Chowk Metro station is designed and installed in a digital format this year,” said a DMRC spokesperson. “It displays information on Rabindranath Tagore, CV Raman, Hargobind Khorana, Mother Teresa, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, Amartya Sen, Venkatraman Ramakrishnan and Kailash Satyarthi in both Hindi and English,” he said.

The wall was unveiled by Mangu Singh, Managing Director, DMRC and H.E. Harald Sandberg, Ambassador of Sweden to India.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Singh said - “It is a matter of pride for us to host the Nobel Memorial Wall with the Embassy of Sweden for the fifth year in a row to honour our Nobel Laureates.” “The inauguration of the Nobel Wall at Rajiv Chowk has become a tradition to mark the beginning of the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week. I would like to thank DMRC for partnering with us in this initiative where we remember the Indian Nobel Laureates for their contribution to the world”, said Mr. Sandberg.
