PWD sets up Quality Assurance Unit

The Delhi Government’s Public Works Department has constituted a 10-member team of engineers to conduct a quality control and technical audit of all ongoing construction works of the government in the Capital.

According to official sources here on Thursday, the team will be known as the Quality Assurance Unit and its mandate will be to ensure quality works and provide right technical inputs for the ongoing construction of government buildings, roads, flyover and works being implemented under the MLA local area development scheme, including the civil, electrical and technical tasks.

Construction work being carried out by various civic agencies including the three municipal corporations of Delhi will be covered under the quality and technical audit.

PWD Minister Satyendra Jain has directed the department’s Chief Engineer to give instructions for smooth functioning of the unit.
