An Associate Professor and two more staff members of a government women’s college here have been suspended by the Directorate of Higher Education, Haryana, following allegations of sexual harassment against them.
The three have been identified as Associate Professor C.S. Vashisth, Junior Laboratory Attendant Jagdev and Class IV employee Vikram.
The action was initiated following a report in a section of local media.
The directions for suspension were given by Higher Education Director A. Srinivasan after the allegations against the accused were prima facie found true.
A report has also been sought from the State Sexual Harassment Committee within a week in this regard.
The victim in a written complaint to the principal had alleged that the trio would lure women students on the promise of helping them during their exams and sexually harass them.

She had also submitted an audio recording in this connection as a proof.
An FIR has also been registered at Sector 16 Police Station in Faridabad in this connection.
Faridabad police spokesperson Sube Singh said the police were trying to contact the victim to seek more details in the case.
