The Special Task Force (STF), Rohtak, has arrested a notorious criminal, who was carrying a reward of ₹25,000 on his head, from near Rohtak’s Bohar canal.

Police spokesperson on Wednesday said that the arrested accused was identified as Sandeep alias Sonu, a resident of Mokhra village in Rohtak. A countrymade pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from his possession.

A team of Rohtak STF had got a tip-off that Sandeep was roaming near Bohar canal with an intention to commit a criminal offence. A police team reached the spot and arrested him.

He has been involved in several cases of crime, including murder of a youth in Mokhra in June this year. A case in this connection was registered against him at Meham police station.
