Man held with 72.5 kg ganja

A 35-year-old man was arrested in South Delhi for allegedly possessing 72.5 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 45 lakh in the international market, police said.

The accused, identified as Jahoor Khan, a resident of Farukhabad in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Kalindi Kunj in Sarita Vihar while he was moving in a truck which was carrying the contraband.

“On search of the truck, it was found that it was loaded with 800 packets of plastic granules and in between the packets, one big plastic bag containing contrabands was found. The bag was opened and 12 packets each containing 6 kg ganja was found,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Mandeep Singh Randhawa. — PTI
