A 27-year-old has been arrested in Ludhiana for allegedly raping a 37-year-old television news channel producer here last year.
The victim had approached the Vasant Vihar police station with her complaint against Ludhiana resident Harkeerat last month in which she had alleged that he had established physical relations with her after falsely promising that he would marry her.
It is further alleged that Singh raped her in September 2014 in Manesar and later in Jaipur, Ludhiana and Vasant Vihar but had stopped receiving her phone calls soon after. Based on her complaint, a case had been registered against Singh.
Singh was arrested from Ludhiana on Saturday and has been booked under the relevant sections of the IPC
