Lok Sabha poll affidavits: assets of leaders jump by a few crores

Pankaj Gupta is richest AAP candidate with declared movable, immovable assets worth over ₹20 crore

Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan’s assets increased by over ₹19.4 lakh while Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari rose by over ₹4 crore in the last five years, states their respective affidavits.

BJP candidate Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma assets increased by over ₹4.79 crore.

Dr. Vardhan, Mr. Tiwari and Mr. Verma on Monday filed their nominations for the Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi and West Delhi constituencies respectively.

In Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Pankaj Gupta was the richest candidate with declared movable and immovable assets worth over ₹20.43 crore, according to his affidavit.

South Delhi candidate Raghav Chadha in comparison declared movable assets worth over ₹16 lakh and has no immovable assets.

He showed an income of ₹2,19,320 in his last year’s income tax return, according to the affidavit.

Senior party leader Atishi has declared movable and immovable assets worth over ₹1.20 crore and has shown an income of ₹4,91,982 in her last year’s income tax return.

Meanwhile, Dr. Vardhan and his wife have shown movable assets worth over ₹38.50 lakh and over ₹20.73 lakh respectively.

In the affidavit filed for 2014 Lok Sabha poll, he had shown movable assets worth over ₹28.77 lakh while his wife had over ₹10.67 lakh.

He has shown immovable assets worth ₹1.05 crore while his wife has immovable assets worth over ₹1.37 crore.

Mr. Verma has declared a total of immovable and movable assets worth over ₹15.51 crore.

He has shown immovable assets worth over ₹7.75 crore and his wife has assets worth ₹4.55 crore.

Mr. Tiwari has declared a total of movable and immovable assets worth over ₹24 crore, an increase of over ₹4.33 crore from 2014.
