Temperatures fell 2-3 degrees below normal; overcast skies likely today

Light showers in the evening and an overcast sky throughout the afternoon kept temperatures below the season’s average in the Capital on Wednesday.

The rain was accompanied by gusts of wind blowing at 35 kmph.

The Safdarjung weather station recorded 0.8 mm of rainfall. Palam and Ridge recorded 3.2 mm and 1.6 mm of rain respectively.

The maximum temperature settled at 35.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees below the season’s average.

The minimum was recorded at 22.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the normal. The humidity oscillated was between 71% and 35%.

The Meteorological Department has forecast overcast skies on Thursday with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover between 38 and 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
