Kalam Essay Contest

Dr. A.P.J. Kalam was a true legend of our times. Through his life, career and writings he has inspired generations of Indians, and even after his demise, India’s ‘People’s President’ and ‘Missile Man’ continues to ignite our minds. Coinciding with Dr. Kalam’s 84th birth anniversary, The Hindu In School in association with Camlin, is conducting an essay writing contest for school children.

The topic for the contest is “What I learnt from Dr. Kalam”. Mail your entries in not more than 250 words to camlinstudentsdaycontest@thehindu.co.in The essays must be written in pen, scanned and mailed along with a passport-size photograph of yourself. The last day for entry is October 12.

On October 15, Kalam’s birth anniversary, 15 winning entries (five each under the first, second and third places) will be published. Names of 50 consolation prize winners will also be announced. Winners get a chance to walk away with attractive prizes from the reputed stationery brand Camlin.
