In order to attract more foreign students to study at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), the university has decided to come out with a brochure listing out its achievements, history, and facilities, that will be distributed at various Indian diplomatic missions abroad.

The move comes after a committee was formed by vice-chancellor Najma Akthar to come up with a plan to attract more foreign students. JMI added that the V-C has also extended the date for submission of admission forms for foreign students till July 1.

The first list of selected/waitlisted candidates for admission to undergraduate courses will be released on July 15. The list of selected/waitlisted candidates for postgraduate courses will be released on July 22.

“At present, 279 foreign students from 39 countries have registered... 240 applications were received through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Out of this, 65 applications have been provisionally considered for admission. Fee for these scholars is at par with Indian students,” the university stated.
