A homeless man was killed when he was hit by a bus in Sarai Rohilla on Thursday morning, the police said. DCP (North) Monika Bhardwaj said the victim has not been identified.

A vagabond, Rishipal, said at 7 a.m., the victim was going towards Vaishno Mata temple when a bushit the man and sped off. “He was shifted to Hindu Rao Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” Ms. Bhardwaj said.

“CCTV footage is being checked to ascertain the identity of the driver and the bus. A case has been registered under Sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC,” the officer said.

In another incident, a 26-year-old man identified as Parul was killed when a truck hit him in Netaji Subhash Place on Friday. The police said the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Manhunt is on for the accused driver who left the truck at the spot, the police added.
