Thousands of people participated in a half-marathon, which was organised by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday in memory of the soldiers killed in the line of duty.

‘BSF Half Marathon-2017’ comprised a 21-km-long half-marathon and a five-km fun-run. It was held at the BSF Frontier HQ and was flagged-off by Minister of State for Youth Affairs (I/C) and Sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.

Around 4,800 participants registered for the run and Col. Rathore thanked those who took part and showed support to the families of the martyrs. Athletes such as P.T. Usha, shooter Abhinav Bindra, golfer Amit Luthra, and actress Swara Bhasker also took part in the event.

The five-km fun-run was flagged off by MoS (Home) Kiren Rijiju, who also participated in the event.
