Govt to move SC against HC verdict

The AAP government will challenge the Delhi High Court verdict, which quashed its notification on the revision of minimum wages for workers in the Capital, Labour Minister Gopal Rai said on Monday.

The Minister said he had reviewed the court’s August-4 verdict, which scrapped the scheme saying the “hurried” decision was taken without hearing the employers or employees and was a violation of the Constitution. “Delhi government will challenge the verdict through a special leave petition in the Supreme Court,” Mr. Rai said. The strategy to be followed by the government in challenging the High Court verdict will be discussed with the counsel of the department in a meeting on Tuesday, he said.
