The Delhi government on Friday said it would be setting up a state-of-the-art incubation centre at the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) to mentor school students who came up with exceptional business plans under the ‘Business Blasters’ programme.

Established in August 2020 by the Delhi government, the DSEU seeks to equip students with job-ready skills by offering courses that are in sync with the needs of the industry. It offers diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses across 13 campuses in Delhi. The latest initiative involves mentoring and training the students on the intricacies of setting up a business, providing them with a working space and helping with the registration of their businesses and compliance services.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that compared to other incubators, this centre will be unique given the age of those using the facility.

“Some of the trainees will be still in school while working on their startups. These students have come a long way on the basis of their abilities and now need professional guidance to move further and establish their startups as big companies in the future,” Mr. Sisodia said, adding that the incubation centre will support the students “in all possible ways and guide them at every step of their entrepreneurial journey”.

Atishi, Chairperson, Standing Committee on Education, Delhi Legislative Assembly said, “The Business Blasters Incubation Centre in DSEU will act as a foundation for the future entrepreneurs studying in our schools from where they will be able to give the right direction to their innovative business ideas.”
