With passenger operations on the Noida-Greater Noida metro corridor starting on January 26, the first day saw a ridership of over 11,000.
However, on Sunday, commuters complained of issues pertaining to issue of metro cards.
A Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) official said, “There were temporary issues with the SBI system and hence issuing of cards was kept on hold for some time. However, it was resolved soon and issuing of cards resumed by 1 p.m.”
While ridership at Pari Chowk and Delta stations at Greater Noida saw the highest ridership on the first day, Noida Sectors 146,147 and 144 metro stations recorded the lowest figured.
Day One haul
The NMRC generated a revenue of ₹3.6 lakh on the first day.
Union Minister Hardeep Puri and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had inaugurated the Aqua Line on January 25. Passenger operations on the corridor started from 10 a.m. on January 26.
