FIRs against AAP, BJP for model code violations

Says Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi

Four FIRs or daily diary (DD) entries, including two against AAP and one against the BJP, have been lodged for violation of the Model Code of Conduct since it was imposed on March 10 till Monday afternoon, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi said on Monday.

Apart from the four FIRs or DD entries for MCC violations, 235 FIRs have been lodged and 242 people arrested for violating provisions of the Excise Act, and 75 FIRs have been registered and 93 arrested for violations under the Arms Act.

A total of 82 unlicensed arms and 2,113 cartridges/explosives/bombs have been seized.

So far, 257 bottles and 24,681 quarter bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor and 191 bottles, 131 half bottles and 51,787 quarter bottles of country liquor have been seized.

A total of 94.337 kg of narcotics/drugs have also been seized.

So far, the municipalities have removed a total of 90,937 hoardings/banners/posters from across the city.
