A case of robbery in north-west Delhi has been solved within hours of its execution with the police arresting eight suspects and recovering Rs.65 lakh from their possession. Four of them are currently enrolled in Delhi University colleges.

The main conspirator, according to police, is one Dinesh who works with the robbed businessman. Dinesh and his colleague were transporting cash for their boss when they were waylaid by some motorcycle-borne men on Monday and robbed of the bag in Ashok Vihar area. During the interrogation, police found Dinesh’s behaviour suspicious.

“Dinesh had worked with the company till a year ago before rejoining the company a few days ago. He tried to mislead us, but broke down and confessed under sustained interrogation,” said Vijay Singh, DCP (North-West).

Dinesh told police that the idea to execute the robbery struck him while he was recently drinking with his two friends Sachin and Nakul.

All the suspects, aged between 18 and 23 years, take a keen interest in stunt motorcycling. Four of them are currently enrolled in Delhi University colleges
