DU centralised sports trials to begin today

Admission in two categories — super (direct admission) and trial (mark-based)

Delhi University’s centralised sports quota trials will begin from Friday, with trials in 33 different sports spread across 22 venues in the city.

The university has published a detailed directory of timings and rules to be followed for trials in each sport.

It has instructed the aspirants to appear for the sports trials with a printed copy of the online undergraduate admission form and report to the venue 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

The university said that latecomers will not be entertained and that the applicants must come with proper playing kit. Parents accompanying the applicants will not be allowed inside the premises of sports trials. The university informed that the admission on the basis of sports will be based on two categories. First is the super category in which there will be a direct admission without trial. Followed by this is sports trial category.

In the super category, sportspersons who have represented India competition recognised and funded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will be given direct admission without sports trial. However, they can only get through colleges that has listed a requirement for that game/sport.

In admission on the basis of sports trial, a maximum 40 marks will be reserved for merit/participation certificates and different level certificates will account for different marks. Sports certificate of invitational / memorial / open / prize money league / ranking competitions will not be considered.

“Applicants are required to upload self-attested copies of three merit/participation sports certificate. However, only the highest merit/ participation sports certificate will be considered for marking,” said the university.

Merit list

The complete sports merit list will be released on or before July 6 and document verification, approval of sports admission at concerned colleges will be held on July 10 and July 11.

The notification of first sports admission list by the colleges will be on July 9.

The second sports admission list will be released on July 14 and the third list will be released on July 20.
