The DCW on Thursday issued notice to Justdial seeking information pertaining to the registration of spa centres on its portal. The move follows an inquiry that the women’s commission has launched in a bid to curb alleged sex rackets that are operating from spa centres across the city.

“The commission has also sought details related to the procedures adopted by the company for registrations of these spas on their portal and whether any scrutiny is conducted before displaying them on their domain.”

The company has been asked to provide details of complaints received against spa centres on their portal and whether they were forwarded to authorities concerned,” read a statement issued by the DCW.

Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the DCW said: “The Justdial website is heavily used by people and their data shall be very crucial in the inquiry. Further there must be stringent checks against prostitution activities and any requests or complaints should be strictly acted against.”
