January 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:38 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A court here on Wednesday posted to April 8 the hearing of arguments on the CBI charge sheet in the Gopinath Munde accident case.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Patiala House district courts fixed the date of hearing after the CBI supplied a copy of the charge sheet and other documents to the accused, Gurvinder Singh. The investigating agency has charge sheeted the accused under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.

The agency in its charge sheet alleged that Singh was driving his taxi, Tata Indica, in a rash and negligent manner and despite having a better frontal line of vision, he failed to hear the horn from Mr. Munde’s car.

Mr. Munde, the then Union Minister for Rural Development Gopinath Munde, died in the accident near Prithviraj Road-Tughlak Road roundabout in Central Delhi on June 3 last year.
