Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) working president Rajesh Lilothia on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court’s directive that all parties concerned should meet the Attorney General to find a satisfactory solution to the Sant Ravidas Temple issue.

Mr. Lilothia had filed a petition against the DDA for demolishing the temple in SC and said the court’s decision was a great relief. He had sought relief for permission to pray at the holy site until the temple is reconstructed and also restoration of the idols at the holy site. “The demolition of this sacred temple has hurt crores of followers across the countries and worldwide, who were never informed by the authorities before this demolition,” Mr. Lilothia said.

He added that the court must take strict action against all officials who desecrated the holy place without any specific orders.
