Cong. disregarded India’s security needs: Delhi BJP

Manoj Tiwari demands apology

The Congress delayed the Rafale deal, disregarding the security needs of the country, from 2007 to 2014 and played with the security of the nation, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said on Saturday,

Demanding that Congress national president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken apologise for spreading ‘misinformation’ about the deal, the north-east Delhi MP said the Delhi BJP welcomed the Supreme Court verdict on the arms deal, which proved that “the chowkidar of the country is pure”.

“The Supreme Court verdict proves there was no wrongdoing in the government’s procurement of 36 fighter jets. It is disappointing to learn that the country’s oldest political party is indulging in spreading lies,” Mr. Tiwari said.

“Did Rahul Gandhi lie to save someone? Why was there a delay [in procurement] and the decision not taken from 2007-2014? Did the Congress compromise the security of the country by delaying the process of procurement of fighter jets?” Mr. Tiwari said.

Attacking both the Congress and the AAP, Mr. Tiwari alleged that both parties seemed to be acting “as proxies to Pakistan and China” by raising such “baseless questions”.
