Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal on Thursday hit out at Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal over what she said was “harassment” of her sister and of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
In a tweet to Mr. Baijal, Ms. Kejriwal said: “Respected @LtGovDelhi, you may be aware that the former LG is suffering from severe illness and he regretted what he did with AAP govt. Harassing my widow sister besides the constant harassment of AAP govt. is inhuman. It is said that ‘karma’ never leaves its ‘karta’. Regards [sic]”.
Not Twitter-verified
Though the account is not Twitter-verified, AAP sources confirmed that the account @KejriwalSunita was indeed the CM’s wife.
She was referring to former L-G Najeeb Jung, who had a thorny relationship with her husband’s government.
Graft case
Her statement about her sister was in reference to the arrest of her nephew, Vinay Bansal, by the Anti-Corruption Branch in a case of graft related to a contract of the Public Works Department.
Mr. Bansal’s father, Surender Kumar Bansal, had also been charged in the case last year and passed away soon after the development.
