BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday said that bullets from across the border would be answered by “more bullets” from India while reiterating the party’s national security here.

Canvassing for the party’s North and North West Delhi candidates Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Hans Raj Hans respectively at the Japanese Park in Rohini, Mr. Shah was accompanied by Defence Minister, and Lok Sabha co-in-charge for Delhi Nirmala Sitharaman in addition to senior leaders from the Delhi unit, including former Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel and Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta.

National security

Having travelled to the Capital from a similar public event in Amethi, Mr. Shah said he was confident of the party’s prospects on the seat in addition to arguing that the ongoing Lok Sabha election were being contested “on the issue of national security”.

He also promised to “expose the real face” of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal the next time he was in town.

“I am coming from a roadshow in Amethi and am confident that the Lotus would bloom in Amethi very soon…whenever I come next to Delhi I will expose the real face of Kejriwal. This election is on the issue of national security; wherever I go I only hear one thing: ‘Modi Modi Modi’,” he said.

Balakot air strike

“The way Mr. Modi has taken care of national security has prove that he has a chest of 56 inches. In Pulwama 40 of our men lost their lives; the whole country was angry and upset. Pakistan was scared that Modi ji would do a surgical surgical strike again but to surprise Modi ji ordered an air strike,” he said further.

Referring to the Balakot air strike, Mr. Shah took on the Opposition, including Mr. Kejriwal even as he touched upon Pakistan.

“The day the Balakot air strike happened there was a sense of rejoicing in the whole nation barring two places. One was [at] the house of Rahul baba and the other was the house of Kejriwal,” Mr. Shah said.

“There is the rule of the BJP in India. If a bullet comes from that side we’ll send more bullets over there. We won’t bow down in order to protect our country…No matter if the BJP remains in power or not, one thing is for sure, even when if BJP member remains alive this would be the case,” he said adding that Mr. Modi needed to be re-elected for the sake of national security. Mr. Shah then appealed to voters to make Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Mr. Hans win.
