The Delhi Assembly’s Budget session will start on February 22, the Cabinet, chaired by CM Arvind Kejriwal, decided on Tuesday.

The Cabinet recommended convening the eighth session, that is the Budget session, of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi from February 22 to February 28, a statement from the CMO said. Last year, the Budget session of the Delhi Assembly had been in March. But, this year the Lok Sabha elections are expected in April and May, for which the Model Code of Conduct is likely to be in force in the first half of March. The Aam Aadmi Party government had presented a ₹53,000 crore Budget in 2018-2019, with its first-ever ‘Green Budget’ that emphasised environment-friendly policies.
