Two men were been booked for assaulting an 11-year-old boy, who is the brother of a rape accused, in a village in Dankaur on Thursday. The assault is a fallout of a rape incident that happened in the village. The minor boy suffered serious head injuries in the attack and his eardrums were damaged.

According to the police, a 22-year-old man was arrested by the police after he was caught raping a 15-year-old mentally ill girl on November 6. To take revenge, brothers of the rape victim had attacked the brother of the rape accused on December 25 while he was on the way to the market. The boy was attacked with a sharp object and his eardrums were damaged.

In a complaint to the police, the boy’s father said “My son had gone to buy groceries from a nearby market when he was stopped by the two men. They attacked him with a blunt object and fled after a neighbour recognised them and rescued my son.”

The boy was rushed to the Community Health Centre in Dankaur from where he was referred to District Hospital, Noida, as his head was fractured and eardrums damaged.

Station House Officer at Dankaur, Rajpal Singh Tomar, said “The boy was badly injured. The two assaulters were booked under Sections 307 [attempt to murder] and 323 [voluntarily causing hurt] of the IPC.”

It appears as if the brothers of the rape victim attacked the minor boy to take revenge upon the family. However, the two men denied the allegations and claimed that they were celebrating Christmas in Delhi at the time of the incident, said the SHO.

“The two were released after detention. Investigation is on,” Mr. Tomar further said.
