A 14-year-old boy was killed and two of his friends were injured when the two wheeler they were riding rammed a parked bus in east Delhi’s Mandawali on Saturday night. The boys had gone to see a Dusshera fair and were returning home when the accident happened.
No helmets
The deceased, Rohan (14), and the other two victims -- Tushar and Billu -- studied in Class VIII in a government school.
According to the police, the boys were riding at a high speed and not wearing helmets. Their other violations included triple and underage riding.
The three lived in the same neighbourhood and had left for Patparganj on Tushar’s father’s scooter to watch Vijay Dashami celebrations. After attending the fair, the three friends were returning home when Tushar allegedly failed to notice a bus and rammed the scooter into it.
Rohan died on the spot while Billu and Tushar were rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital with severe head injuries. They were later referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and their condition is stated to be critical. The two wheeler was reduced to a piece of mangled heap, the police said.
