Boy hurt in celebratory firing

A 12-year-old boy was hit by a bullet during celebratory firing in Rohini’s Rithala on Saturday evening. The boy is said to be critical, the police said.

An officer privy to the case said that Garv, who resides with his family in Rithala, was standing on the first floor balcony when the bullet hit him. “His father said that their neighbour’s son was getting married and the wedding procession was about to begin when someone fired in the air. The boy was standing in his balcony and watching the procession when the bullet hit his head,” the officer said.

The victim was rushed to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital from where he was referred to a private hospital and his condition is critical.

The officer said that a case is being registered and teams are on the look out for the accused.
