Bomb scare delays Andhra Pradesh Express train

A bomb scare delayed the departure of Andhra Pradesh Express for nearly two hours from Hazrat Nizamuddin on Thursday. The call, that sent the police and the railway officials into a tizzy, turned out to be a hoax one.

“We received a call around 5-15 p.m. informing us that there was a bomb in a Hyderabad bound train. We found that Andhra Pradesh Express, which has Hyderabad as one of the destinations, was set to leave,” said a senior police officer.

Panic gripped the station when passengers were told about the bomb threat. A search was initiated which lasted for two hoursThe train service was resumed after the call was declared a hoax one.
