Body of man found with throat slit

Body was found lying in a forest area under Azadpur flyover; ATM card found from his possession, but no identification document recovered

An unidentified body of a man with throat slit was found in the forest area under a flyover in North West Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh on Saturday.

A senior police officer privy to the case said that they received a PCR call informing them about a dead body lying under Azadpur flyover after which police reached the spot. “It was found that the man’s throat was slit with a sharp object. An ATM card was also found from his possession but no identification document was found,” the officer said.

The police said that the body has been preserved at the mortuary of Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospitaland efforts are being made to identify the victim with the help of ATM card. Missing persons record is also being checked.

A murder case has been registered and probe is on.
