The state unit of the BJP, at its monthly meeting on Monday, passed a resolution condemning “various scams” being perpetrated under the nose of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
The meet was held at the Pradesh office and presided over by BJP Delhi Pradesh president Manoj Tiwari.
The resolution to this effect, the party said in a statement, was moved by general secretaries Kuljeet Singh Chahal and Ravinder Gupta.
“The said resolution was in condemnation of various scams including the ration scam under the Kejriwal government, the move by Delhi government to increase the pay and allowances of MLAs and failure of the government in solving the problem of water and power which was seconded by general secretary Rajesh Bhatia and approved by office-bearers and members unanimously,” said a senior leader.
The party said in a statement, Mr. Tiwari termed “very regrettable” that the Delhi government made “various excuses” for denying the fund to the Municipal Corporations maintaining the sanitation in the city but it was “very eager” to increase the pay and allowances of its MLAs.
Not released funds
Mr. Tiwari alleged that it was due to political malice that the Kejriwal government had not released funds for a “very important project for the construction of bridge under his constituency”.
“From April 12, I will start an indefinite hunger strike protesting against the neglect of north-east Delhi. All the MPs of Delhi will sit on a hunger strike protesting against the Congress party which is not allowing the Parliament to function,” Mr. Tiwari was quoted as having said.
