Ashoka University has opened its third round of admissions for 2018, and has introduced undergraduate degrees in physics and biology for the upcoming academic year.
The university has said that it has strengthened its sciences department by launching labs for biology, physics and chemistry with high-end research equipment that will enable students to gain exposure to research, experimentation and understand a subject through hands-on experience. The university will launch an undergraduate programme in chemistry by the end of the year as well.
There are no barriers or high school requirements to access a degree in biology at Ashoka. However, during the degree, students are expected to take courses in mathematical biology/biophysics. In order to major in physics, the student is required to have taken mathematics (including calculus) up to Class XII.
Students can apply for a three-year B.A. (Hons) or B.Sc. (Hons) degree from a range of pure and interdisciplinary majors.
A four-year PG diploma programme is also open to all Ashoka University graduates. The current round of admission will close on April 2, but the deadline is subject to change depending on the Class XII board examinations.
