An airline crew member was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at the Delhi airport on Sunday night for carrying $4,80,200 (about ₹3.21 crore) in undeclared cash.

Probe on

The DRI said the crew member on the Jet Airways New Delhi-Hong Kong flight was carrying the undeclared cash in her check-in baggage and the money was wrapped in aluminium foil. “The woman and the alleged supplier of cash were intercepted inside the flight. They were handed over to the police for further investigation,” said a source, adding that the Vivek Vihar residence of the cash supplier was also raided by the police.

“We are yet to ascertain whether she has done this in the past. The involvement of others is yet to be determined. She started working for the airlines three months ago,” said an officer.
