Afghan held for smuggling

An Afghan man was arrested by the Customs officials at Delhi airport on Thursday for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold worth about ₹22 lakh, officials said on Saturday.

A statement issued by the Customs stated that the accused, aged 26, was intercepted on his arrival from Kandahar, Afghanistan. Three gold chains, valued at ₹21.87 lakh, were seized from him and he was arrested.
