Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai said that his party is capable of winning all seats in the Capital without an alliance with the Congress.

He was reacting to a statement made by Congress leader Randeep Surjewala in which he said that his party was not in talks with AAP or any other party for an alliance in Haryana and Punjab.

‘State of confusion’

“If the Congress is confident of winning in Punjab without an alliance, AAP is also capable of winning all the seats in Delhi on its own. I would like to ask Mr. Surjewala if the Congress had forgotten about its loss in the bypoll in Jind,” Mr. Rai said.

He said that the Congress seemed to be self-obsessed and is in a state of confusion.

“AAP took the decision to contest on 35 seats in different States as it felt it could defeat the BJP in these seats. The Congress, however, is ready to lose these seats as it is reluctant to form an alliance,” Mr. Rai said.

It should be recalled that AAP had said it was willing to have an alliance with the Congress only if the two parties fight the Lok Sabha poll jointly in Haryana and Chandigarh too.
