As debate continues over comments made about Sonia Gandhi in a new book by Natwar Singh, Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Sunday said the issue had left an “unpleasant taste” and the former minister had forgotten the “good counsel and guidance” that he himself used to give.
The book titled One Life is Not Enough by Mr. Singh , has created an intense political debate on issues related to Ms. Gandhi not taking up the PM position after 2004 elections.
“We have benefited enormously from his [Natwar Singh’s] guidance in the past,” Mr. Khurshid told PTI in an interview here.
‘Not in same plane’ According to Mr. Khurshid, the books of Mr. Singh and Sanjaya Baru, who was a media adviser to then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, cannot be viewed in the same plane. “Sanjaya Baru was a stranger... He had no connection, link with the Congress leadership, Ms. Gandhi and others.”
