A 56-year-old government middle school headmaster was arrested at Baluda village in Sohna here on Wednesday for allegedly sexually harassing minor boy students.
After school hours
According to the police, the accused, Bhim Singh Yadav, detained a nine-year-old boy from his school on February 4 after school hours and sexually harassed him. “The victim, in his complaint, said that the accused called him to his room after school hours on February 4 and asked him to read a Hindi lesson. While the boy was reading the lesson, the headmaster allegedly kissed him on his cheek and touched him inappropriately,” said Station House Officer (Sohna), Inspector Yashvir Singh.
The boy apparently discussed the matter with his friends and found out that the headmaster had behaved in a similar manner with three more boys in the school. All four boys are aged between 8 and 10 years.
The boy then confided in his parents, who lodged a complaint with the district administration officials on Tuesday.
The agitated parents, however, reached the school on Wednesday and the matter was later reported to the police.
An FIR has been lodged under Section 12 (Punishment for sexual harassment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Sohna Police Station in this connection and the accused arrested.

District Elementary Education Officer Ram Kumar told The Hindu that he had written to the higher authorities seeking suspension of the accused. Bhim Singh has been headmaster at the school for the past four years.
