Man sodomised, 4 held

A 26-year-old man was allegedly sodomised and thrashed by four men inside a park in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri on Monday. The police have arrested all four accused.

“The accused were known to the victim. The men saw him near Monkey Park and signalled him to stop claiming to discuss something important,” said a police officer.

According to the police, the accused dragged the victim inside the park and thrashed him until he collapsed. After the victim gained consciousness, the men took turns to sodomise him and then fled the spot. “The victim made a PCR call after which was he was rushed to AIIMS trauma centre,” said a police source.

“A case was immediately registered under sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC. We constituted teams and arrested the four accused,” said a senior police officer.
