L-G inspects Games Village

Delhi's Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna visited the Commonwealth Games Village here on Friday to see the preparations for the international sporting event to be hosted by the Capital in October this year.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Khanna expressed satisfaction at the progress of construction work at the site. He observed that the Games Village had been developed in an exemplary manner. It was pointed out that various Commonwealth members had appreciated the Delhi Games Village as one of the best in the world.

The L-G also directed the developers and officials to focus and concentrate on completing the remaining touch-up work in the most professional manner and at the earliest.

He emphasised that the need of the hour was to work round the clock.

Mr. Khanna also called for ensuring and maintaining high standards of quality. “It will inspire the various stakeholders and developers and venue owners to accomplish the task in the most professional manner to meet the requirement and challenges of the Commonwealth Games which the Organising Committee, the Delhi Government and the whole nation wants to be a not only memorable one but also the best ever Games held,” he said.
