Just days after a terror attack in Dhaka, the Gurgaon Police have received a tip-off about three alleged ISIS terrorists hiding in Sushant Lok here. However, the police said on Wednesday that the complaint was false.
According to the complaint received at the Cyber Cell of the Gurgaon Police, three men allegedly connected to the ISIS were hiding in the area under the Sushant Lok police station. A notice was then issued to the Sushant Lok Phase-I Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) that three suspected terrorists — Mohammad Khalid, Salman Kalim and Rashid Ali — were said to be hiding in the area. The RWA was directed to conduct a house-to-house search and identify if the suspects were in the locality.
“Soon after we received the letter on July 3, we distributed copies among residents and guest house owners. So far, there is no information. Also, we have not heard from the police,” said a member of the Sushant Lok Phase-I RWA.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Saharan said on Wednesday that the complainant had denied the facts of the complaint. In fact, she told the police that a false complaint had been filed on her behalf, which had happened on earlier occasions too, probably to harass her.
Sources in the Gurgaon Cyber Cell, however, said the matter was still being investigated.
