: More than a week after a gang of over half-a-dozen dacoits gang-raped two women inside a factory premises in Haileymandi here, the Gurugram police have released the sketches of four of the culprits.

UP gang’s role probed

“Based on the statements of the accused, including the women, we have prepared and released the sketches of four of the culprits. The rest were wearing monkey caps and could not be identified,” said Station House Officer (Pataudi), Inspector Shiv Kumar. He added the police suspected the involvement of an Uttar Pradesh gang as a similar incident was reported in Tappal over a month ago.

The women, along with their family and other workers, were sleeping inside the factory premises around midnight on January 28 when the dacoits, armed with country-made pistols, barged inside.

SIT set up

They first took the security guard hostage and then forced their way into the accommodations of the workers inside. The dacoits also beat up the male workers and tied them up. They then took turns to rape the two women. The culprits consumed liquor and remained inside the factory for over three hours.

A six-member Special Investigation Team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police-level officer has been set-up to probe the matter.
