For Delhiites planning to soak in some winter sun over the weekend, the Meteorological Department has a forecast that might put those plans on hold. The weatherman has predicted partly cloudy skies on Friday afternoon with light rain expected over the weekend.
Mercury to dip
The temperature is likely to fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius with moderate to dense fog in the mornings.
“The minimum temperature is likely to fall to 5-7 degrees Celsius by January 9. Light rain can be expected on January 6 and 7 across some parts of Delhi,” said an official at the MeT Department.
On Thursday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. The maximum was at 25.4 degrees Celsius, six degrees above the season’s average.
