60 malaria cases reported so far: report

The number of cases of malaria this year so far has touched 60, according to the latest municipal corporation report released on Monday.

Last week, 16 cases of malaria were reported by the municipal corporations with two from south Delhi, one from east and up to 13 were “untraced after investigation.” With the onset of the monsoon, the number of cases in the vector-borne diseases has gone up. For instance, last week, 13 cases of malaria were reported.

Meanwhile, the cases of dengue have been comparatively lower at 26 cases this year and four reported this week. For chikungunya, the numbers have been low as 12 have been reported this year. The civic bodies have reportedly sprayed up to 3,39,010 houses with insecticide.
