6 booked for duping man of ₹34 lakh

Dadri police have booked six persons for allegedlyw duping a Jaipur-based businessman of over ₹34 lakh in the Bike Bot scam in Greater Noida in 2018.

According to the police, an FIR was registered against Sanjay Bhati, the alleged owner of the Bike Bot company along with its five directors named Rajesh Bharadwaj, Sunil Kumar Prajapati, Deepti Behl, Sachin Bhati, and Karan Pal Singh after a Jaipur-based businessman alleged the directors of duping him in the name of bike taxi service.

“We received information that the accused and his company allegedly took ₹34 lakh from the victim in the name of investing in the venture and promised high interests. As the company failed to credit the returns on time, the victim lodged a complaint with the police,” said Station House Officer at Dadri, Ram Sen Singh.

The victim Sunil Meena, a native of Jagatpura in Jaipur alleged that the company offered him its franchise at ₹34 lakh, “I was told that I will be the CEO of the Bike Bot franchise in Jaipur where they promised to bring 51 bike taxis. I signed an agreement in October 2018 which said that I will manage the taxi service in Jaipur while the company will give an office space, parking space for bikes and the salaries of the driver. But nothing happened and the company duped all my money,” said Mr. Meena.

“Based on the complaint and the circumstantial evidences, the six accused have been booked under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code. Arrest will be made soon,” said the SHO.
