During a check of security arrangements for ATMs, Noida police found that over 300 ATMs did not have guards.

In the absence of security many banks and ATMs in Noida are easy target of criminals.

The police have now instructed the banks to put a minimum of five security guards, including two armed guards, inside the bank.

The bank staff will be expected to give details of the guards to the local police posts, have CCTV cameras and put the police helpline number inside in a visible place.

The police was also instructed to prepare a list of banks in the district that do not have adequate safety measures

A senior police officer said that the Gautam Buddh Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police personally inspected the banks and ATMs and directed the banks to revisit the security plan.
