Cops suspect it to be revenge killing

A 28-year-old man was shot dead by car-borne men in Outer north Delhi’s Khera Kalan on Tuesday evening. The police said that a case has been registered and probe has begun.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer-North) Gaurav Sharma said that the victim has been identified as Ravinder, a resident of Khera Kalan. He was targeted while he was riding his bike.

The police said that a PCR call was received around 4.30 p.m. regarding a man being shot at. “When the police reached the spot, they were informed that two-three people in a car came and shot him before fleeing the spot,” Mr Sharma said.

The victim was rushed to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and begun probe. “It is suspected to be a case of revenge killing. But motive is yet to be ascertained. The victim has a few criminal cases registered against him as well. The case is being investigated from different angles,” the officer said.
