Two bike-borne men allegedly snatched a 36-year-old woman’s gold chain in North East Delhi’s Jaffrabad on Wednesday, the police said. The incident took place at 3.30 p.m. when the woman, a staff at a nursing home here was returning home after work, they said.
Spotting the miscreants, the public tried to chase down the two men, DCP (North-East) Atul Kumar Thakur said. In a bid to scare the people, one of the accused fired in the air. No one was injured in the incident, the officer said. The police received one empty round from the spot.
CCTV footage of the incident has been scanned and some suspects have been identified, he added.
One of the suspects have been apprehended and taken into police custody.
