The widow of a slain head constable of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was paid Rs.1 crore as financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund here on Wednesday. Delhi Social Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar went to the residence of Meena Devi at Kheda Dabar and handed her a cheque for the amount, while offering his condolences.
Head Constable Narottam Das, who was a driver with the CRPF, was killed along with one of his colleagues when his vehicle was blown up by Naxalites in Gaya, Bihar, on February 24. About a dozen CRPF officers were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the blast.
